Reykjavik, October 19th 2015 – Dohop has entered into a partnership with Deutsche Lufthansa, a part of Lufthansa Group, which is Europe’s largest carrier in terms of passenger volume and fleet size when combined with its subsidiaries.
Previously, Dohop users were only able to book Lufthansa flights through online travel agents.
Through the new partnership with Lufthansa, Dohop’s users will now receive the full advantages of booking directly with the airline after finding prices on Dohop. They will be connected to Lufthansa’s information systems and will always have access to their personal booking overview. Seat reservations, rebooking, cancellation or upgrades are possible with a few clicks.
On September 1st, Lufthansa Group started applying a distribution cost charge to the bookings on an LHG airline, Lufthansa, Austrian, Brussels and Swiss airlines, booked by the Global Distribution System. Dohop is one of the first travel search sites to offer its users the ability to book Lufthansa tickets directly without the extra charge.
Initially, Dohop’s agreement with Lufthansa applies to several markets including Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
